My Students
My students are enrolled in a 50/50 English/Spanish dual-immersion program, where they receive 50% of instruction is Spanish and 50% of instruction in English every day by two different teachers. I will be working with roughly 45 students who are all of diverse backgrounds, and aiming to become bilingual citizens in this global economy.
Our school is a Title 1 school where 60% of the students are socioeconomically disadvantaged.
The students are all eager and excited to learn every day they come to school; they are as energetic as they can get! They deserve the best education possible.
My Project
All the materials requested are basic classroom materials that we need in our classroom each and every day. Students love to express their ideas in a variety of ways, such as post-it activities where we express our thoughts/learning by writing them on post-its and sticking them on chart paper. We need basic things like crayons and markers to engage in art work and be able to represent a variety of races through our drawings.
We cannot have a successful learning environment without all these basic needs!
Things such as ink toners, provide my students and I with access to a printer in our classroom, so that whenever our copier breaks down, we have a back-up plan. Our partition dividers are pretty torn and falling apart, so we need those to help us be responsible during tests.
My students also need clipboards and whiteboards to help us during our writing and math blocks, since they get to sit wherever they want during independent time. The big post-its will be used to create our Writer's Workshops anchor charts. Rest assured that every single item on this list will be used in the classroom to improve our learning. All students should have access to these basic and necessary supplies!
