All year I have run two clubs through the library - Comic Book Club and Battle of the Books. The students who attend these clubs choose to give up one lunch period a week to come talk about books! For Comic Book Club we read one book a week and then discuss it. For Battle of the Books we read 20 books over the course of the school year and discuss one each week. These clubs are full of lively, passionate students who love to read!
These students deserve to be rewarded for their commitment to our clubs.
Comic Book Club works best when we have new comic books. The students are most excited to read new titles even though we have read some classics this year as well - such as Maus and Paper Girls. Having new books to read for the end of the year would be so exciting for them. The Battle of the Books students are going to be competing in an end-of-year competition soon and we need t shirts to represent our school. These students have been reading so much and working so hard all year - they deserve a t shirt as a reward!
