My Project
What I love most about my students is their resilience and desire to succeed despite facing difficult life circumstances. Many come to school each day in need of basic necessities, yet they still strive to do their best.
This project will help create a clothing giveaway store where students can "shop" for free items like coats, shoes, and everyday clothing.
Items such as clothes racks, shoe organizers, hangers, and shopping bags will create a dignified, store-like atmosphere. This space will support students’ self-esteem and well-being, helping them feel more confident and ready to learn.
This project will make a difference in learning by removing one of the silent barriers that often impacts student success—lack of access to clean, appropriate clothing. When students feel self-conscious about what they’re wearing or don’t have proper attire for school, it can lead to increased absenteeism, distractions in class, and low self-esteem. By providing a welcoming, store-like space where students can select what they need with dignity, we help meet their basic needs. When students feel confident and cared for, they are more likely to engage in class, participate fully, and focus on their education.
