Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our high school administered a reading diagnostic and we were startled to find that we have students who are still reading at an elementary school level.
Upon closer inspection, we discovered that our lowest performing students, were our most vulnerable, our English learners.
We decided that something needed to be done, and our team of English teachers volunteered to create a program where we grouped students by Lexile level and are going to target reading skills.
We have the students, we have the teachers giving up conference periods to run this intervention, but we need the resources. This is where we need your help, to get lower-level instructional reading resources.
