This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work with students who are on average at a 1st grade level for their reading. However, they currently are in middle school. Their low levels of reading impact them on a daily basis from their attendance, their participation in classroom instruction, and their self confidence.

My students are motivated, but are making limited progress with the tools I have available currently with some making no progress at all.

Enter EBLI. EBLI is a different approach to reading putting sounds rather than letter first. I have read many many stories of students who only make progress with EBLI and make 4 or more years of growth in their reading with just a few sessions of EBLI work per week.

EBLI is comprehensive, research based, explicit instruction that my students are so desperate for. I only have 3 short years with my students so the pressure for them to make progress is on from the moment they enter middle school. Help me build successful and confident readers.
