I want to provide a way for my students to keep track of the time they receive special services in my classroom. Using a clock-in/clock-out app on the iPad will achieve this goal. It will show them and their parents when and how long they are receiving services. This will help provide data on exactly what students need and guide the IEP writing process. Additionally, students can use the iPad to request restroom breaks. This will eliminate student abuse of pull-out services and restroom use.
I want to help my eclectic group of students learn self-advocacy and responsibility for their learning.
My goal is to prepare my students for the real world after high school. I want them to be able to self-advocate for themselves when they need services. I also want them to see when they are escaping the general classroom and wasting valuable class time. Using various apps on the iPad will help students track their service minutes and time out of the classroom. This data can then be used to create improvement plans for students to self-regulate their behavior and how they use their time wisely.
