This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a middle school Social Worker in the heart of the South Bronx seeking funding for clipboards to allow them to participate more actively in lessons while sitting in a circle.
My students from the South Bronx face many challenges, including limited resources, which can lead to disengagement and boredom in the classroom; delivering lessons in a group format in a class circle encourages engagement.
This simple tool will make learning more interactive and fun while supporting their mental health by fostering a more relaxed, collaborative environment.
The goal of this project is to create a classroom where students are excited to participate, reducing stress and promoting a sense of belonging within their class as a community. The clipboards will make it easier for students to stay focused and involved, even outside traditional desk setups.
These students face difficult circumstances every day, so it is crucial that we do everything we can to keep them engaged and excited about school. By making lessons more engaging, we can improve their overall academic experience, grades, and emotional well-being.
