My Students
My students are from a Title I school in rural Oklahoma where I also grew up. A large percentage of our students live below the poverty level and have rarely experienced the world outside of our local area. They need opportunities to gain new experiences with hands-on learning about the world outside our rural area.
I know they have the desire and ability to learn and grow; they just need the opportunity and the tools.
Exploring ideas in tangible ways is something my students enjoy and have a definite interest in doing. They understand what they need to succeed; they just lack the experience and the tools.
My Project
Making the move to virtual education and planning for distance learning has been a chore for many educators and has created anxiety for students. The track pad on our devices is hard for many to use, making “copy and paste” harder than it needs to be. These mice will help my student to be able to literally point and click, making their online experience easier.
I want school in 2020 to be as painless and worry-free as possible for my students.
Having something as simple as a mouse will give my students one less thing to worry about.
