This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We love technology! My 5th graders are eager to learn about the world outside through the use of technology. My students come from a diverse background with many struggles in accessing technology outside of school. Many are only able to access the technological world while in school.

Our 5th graders live in a great community full of diverse cultures and a great school full of supportive teachers and parents.

We are located in Southwest Phoenix where 82% of our students qualify for free and reduced lunch. Our class is full of great students who help each other out and support one another!

My Project

Technology is used in our everyday classroom. My classroom was fortunate enough to get a dedicated computer cart for use in the classroom. We use it during our reading instruction, math instruction, writing, and researching science! My students love to use technology!

Through the use of a mouse connected to their Chromebook, students will be able to navigate through necessary websites easily.

Many students struggle using the mousepad on the laptop and will often choose the incorrect answer. Several students lack fine motor skills in order to teach themselves how to physically multi-task through operations to achieve goals and objectives.

Headphones are a necessary tool in the classroom for students who struggle with reading and comprehension. Our reading curriculum allows the stories to be read aloud to students. Headphones will allow those students who need to hear a story or part of a story to do so without interrupting their neighbor!
