This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Can you imagine the fear of expressing yourself during math class when your skill level is significantly behind your peers? An iclicker system will help change those feelings.

My students want to learn math.

Despite being several grade levels behind, they come to their resource support class excited to learn. My students have a wide-range of disabilities that affect their learning in all areas and sometimes do not feel confident in their answers and are reluctant to share. I work hard for my students to realize their tremendous potential in all areas, especially in math.

My Project

My students are currently working on building their basic computational skills using all four math operations. This takes a lot of practice for any math student, but my students require additional time and practice to reach mastery due to their varying disabilities. Having an iclicker system in my math resource support classes will make our daily computational practice fun, exciting, and fast! Several students have difficulty writing or speaking, which can slow down our review and practice of the four basic math operations. An iclicker will allow those students to participate on an even playing field with their peers without their speech or motor skills slowing them down. In addition, with the instant graphs displayed using the iclicker system, all of my students will take additional ownership of their strengths and weaknesses and be further inspired to work hard towards math mastery.

I can visualize my students using the iclicker system to further increase their achievement.

They will be excited about the technology and seeing their results instantaneously. My students confidence in their math skills will soar!
