My students need a digital camera and printer with replacement ink cartridges so they can show the rest of the school the amazing things we do in and out of the classroom.

My Students
"A picture is worth a thousand words". This adage definitely holds true when students are creating wonderful things and performing fantastic roles. I want my students to be able to remember the great things that they did in first grade by being able to look back at photographs.
My students are in first grade at an elementary school in NY.
The school which they attend has many students that are underprivileged and they do not have access to many great things once they leave school for the day. I want to give them the gift of photographs for them to always remember that I did the best I could to make them feel that they can have anything, even if it is for 6 hours a day.
My Project
I am requesting a digital camera and photo printer mainly because I love to capture all of their learning moments inside and outside of school. We do a lot of projects where I wish I was able to show the rest of the school exactly what we did. Also, we go on many field trips. Having a camera on hand would help to capture the priceless moments of students learning and exploring unknown things. The printer would compliment the camera in a way that I can immediately print and display the great things that we did so the students can always look back and say "Hey, I really did that."
I feel this project would be an asset to my students because they deserve a chance to save their memories; not only in their minds but on photographs.
I know my students love looking at pictures of themselves and others. Unfortunately, the parents or guardians do not own cameras and cannot capture the special moments in their children's lives. Having a camera in the classroom will make the students feel that they have something tactile to hold on to forever.
