This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are the best! I wouldn't ask for anything different. They are just short of amazing! My students are energetic, loving, kind, and active! When I enter the classroom, my students are ready and eager to learn. I work in a low-income community in the South Bronx. They may not have much, but when they enter my classroom, I like to make sure they have the world. My students are respectful and helpful to anyone who walks through the door. And at the end of the day, kids are going to be kids.
They love to sing, dance, and learn in various ways!
My Project
In our classroom, other than the Smart Board, there is no hands on technology for the kids to use. Bringing in Chromebooks for the students to use will allow them access to information. It will also help transition the classroom from a traditional classroom to a technology driven classroom.
Chromebooks will help the students have regular access to their online reading component.
Most of the students do not have computer access at home. Which means the student cannot use this online resource at home. Also when researching, the students can use the internet to help find information to improve their writing.
Students who also need that extra stimulation to help them focus, will look at the Chromebooks as an incentive for staying focused on their classwork.
