This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are all first—or second-generation immigrants from Mexico or Latin America. Soccer is a huge part of their culture and a sport they love playing. Our district has focused more on traditional sports for funding, such as football or baseball. So we need some support for European Football.
Let's not dribble away the chance to invest in future FIFA members.
The love of soccer and the Fédération Internationale de Football Association is a tangible reminder of the country and culture our players or their parents left behind. This sport is loved all over the world, except where these students are new transplants.
This fundraiser would allow our students to have soccer bags, track suits, and soccer balls so they will have the same outward support and pride for their beloved sport. The impact on my students' physical health, mental and social development, and global community engagement would be priceless. Soccer promotes fitness, teamwork, and resilience while also fostering social connections and international understanding
