This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Unfortunately, many of my students come from group homes and never have a place to call their own and relax. Mental health is a big issue in schools, and we see it daily in out ESE classes.
In our self-contained class we discuss how important it is to take time for yourself, as well as give others the space they need to feel better.
Currently, we are practicing yoga in class and have essential oils and a place to relax during group time would be an added benefit. Our kids deserve the best.
