Clear Workspace, Clear Mind

My Students

Many of my students come from families who are in the midst of financial hardships, and because of this, all students in this school are eligible for free breakfast and lunch. It is my ultimate goal as a teacher to provide them with as many opportunities and as much support in the classroom as I can.

My role as a kindergarten teacher is to love my students first and teach them second.

In my classroom, we learn through social-emotional learning, we support each other, we celebrate the little victories, and we keep our heads held high when life gets tough.

My students have proven to me how resilient they can be and how they can make the best of whatever hardships get thrown their way. Financial support for my students will, not only relieve some of the burdens from their families who already struggle financially, but it would also allow me to be able to provide them with the necessary learning resources that they need and deserve.

My Project

My students have been so easy going with all the recent changes to in our school. To keep themselves safe and healthy from germs, students in my classroom no longer have access communal supplies. Instead, each student has a set of their own school supplies on their table.

The supplies are easily accessible, however, they clutter much of the usable workspace and cause many distractions.

I've noticed my students are much more focused when they are working in an area without piles of necessary supplies around them. The addition of these chair pockets and name plate trays will help by allowing school supplies being close by when needed, but not causing distractions by being in front of students while trying to focus.
