My Project
Clear backpacks are now a required item for all students at our high school due to school safety protocols. While the expectation is simple, the reality for many of our students is far more complicated. Some families struggle to afford these transparent bags, and students often arrive with torn, oversized, or non-compliant backpacks—or worse, no bag at all.
When students don’t have a clear backpack, they may face disciplinary consequences, feel singled out, or carry their materials in their arms, which often leads to lost or damaged schoolwork.
For students already facing difficult circumstances, something as basic as not having the right backpack can add stress to their day and interfere with their ability to focus on learning.
By having clear backpacks available in our school’s Community Closet, we can provide students with what they need—quickly, discreetly, and without stigma. They’ll be able to move through the day feeling prepared, confident, and compliant with school rules. No more scrambling in the morning, hiding non-clear bags, or carrying heavy books in their hands.
By donating to this project, you’re not just providing a backpack—you’re providing peace of mind, a sense of belonging, and the ability for students to focus on what truly matters: their education.
Something as simple as a backpack can remove a barrier and give a student one less thing to worry about—and that’s a powerful gift.
