it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The students at our school deserve the best, they want the best and they deserve an outstanding-looking campus. Our play area is public and many times individuals from the community come to our area and don't always leave it looking good. Many times we return to school seeing trash and other belongings left behind. Unfortunately, this can negatively influence our students, having them believing that keeping our grounds beautiful is not a priority.
By giving students the opportunity to clean their play area, we are teaching them that their community is a part of their responsibility.
We will provided a group of students with the tools needed to clean up our play area. This includes gloves, garbage bags and a pickup tool so students won’t have to physically handle the items found. When an area is clean and welcoming it shows its value and it is my hope that as we become more responsible for our school grounds, this will transfer into other parts of our community. Therefore, this project includes the tools needed to help beautify our playground and play area.
