Our high school school is an urban high-needs small school school currently located within an existing, under-performing school. This is our second year, but we hope to expand to a 6-12 school with an emphasis on international affairs. I am currently the only language teacher, teaching 9th and 10th French and ESL, since French is the language of diplomacy.
Our classroom is very vintage and unique, but not practical for today's learner. On the wooden floor, you can still see the marks where old desks used to be bolted to the floor. Currently, chalkboards line the walls, but they are turning a slight grayish color from years of use, and students complain that they are unable to see what I write on the board.
I would like to have two whiteboards and markers so that students can see clearly when I'm trying to illustrate a concept, and also give them the opportunity to come up to the board and write things that the other students can see and use as a learning example.
