Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The library is one of the most loved places in our school. I work in an urban area where access to public libraries is limited, so for many of our students, the school library is their only chance to experience the wonder and joy of being surrounded by books. I work hard to make the library a welcoming and comforting space for all students. It’s a place where imaginations grow, stories come to life, and students find a quiet moment in their busy day.

With this project, I’m hoping to get cleaning supplies to help keep our library sparkling, safe, and inviting for everyone who visits.

Our students love checking out books, but during cold and flu season—especially with our younger readers—those books (and hands!) can get pretty messy. I would like to get sanitizing wipes to clean returned books, hand sanitizer for students and staff, and everyday essentials like tissues, soap, paper towels, and Lysol spray to maintain a healthy environment.

These supplies will benefit the entire school, as our library also hosts meetings and gatherings for staff throughout the year. A clean library means fewer germs, healthier students and teachers, and more uninterrupted reading adventures!
