Students have become hyper-sensitive to the need for germ-free, sanitary environments from our recent COVID time period. Our STEM room is not equipped with sinks for hand washing, eye washing, and general sanitization of materials.
By having sinks available in the classroom, students can have the flexibility to feel comfortable cleansing their hands and materials when necessary without exiting the class and missing vital information and learning time.
For example, we will use these sinks to clean brushes when painting during our aviation unit. The ice chests will provide a drain area for the sinks. The ice chests make it easy for us to roll outside to dispose of the waste water. In addition, we can use these sinks for multiple purposes such as an eye washing station for increased safety protocols and procedures
