My Students
My dynamic diverse learning 8th grade students are eager to learn! My students reside and attend school in an urban area. The students at my school come from diverse backgrounds and many represent low socioeconomic statuses. Despite the many challenges they may face, they come to our school ready to learn.
With your generosity, I would love to have the opportunity to assist them in having a successful transition to high school.
As educators we are here to inspire and encourage them to become life-long learners and productive members of society.
My Project
The hygiene/grooming products were requested to help our students come to school ready to learn and prepared for their transition to high school.
One of the best ways to get teens to develop good personal hygiene habits is to start teaching them responsible body care at an early age.
We want to encourage cleanliness and for them to also take the time to take care of themselves by establishing an everyday routine. Making these tasks routine early on will carry into the teen years and adulthood.
It is also my intention to address the academic and social emotional needs of our 8th grade diverse learners. This includes assisting them in having hygiene/grooming materials, encourage them in setting the right expectations, developing skills needed for organization and note-taking strategies, social emotional development, and individual leadership. They will learn these skills and strategies through classroom group work and a variety of team-building activities.
