This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Part of our classroom is outside, and students are always thirsty, asking if I have a plastic water bottle. They don't like to drink the water from the drinking fountain that barely works down the corridor. They think it tastes bad. If we had a Birkey refillable filter then I could always have filtered water available for them to drink.

Students do a lot of walking during the day.

We have a 20+ acre campus and there are not a lot of working water fountains. Having a way for them to refill during the day would be key. It's hard for them to carry all the water they will need in a day to school.

Any support you can give us to support better hydrated students is appreciated.
