Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our classroom rug was damaged during Hurricane Beryl when water came in through the roof and damaged it creating mold. We sadly had to throw it out and there is not enough money in the budget for a brand new one. My students deserve a comfortable rug to sit on while receiving instruction in technology class.
I teach 31 classes per week from Pre-K-5th and a clean and comfortable classroom rug is essential for my student's learning and social-emotional well-being.
Your contribution will go towards creating an inviting classroom space to be used by about 650 students weekly. I teach technology to all students at my school including special education and life skills classes. A large amount of students will be able to enjoy your donation.
My student population are mostly newcomers to the country as well as refuges. Over 40 different languages are spoken at my campus and we are a Title 1 school which means our students come from low-income families.
