My Project
In my classroom, we get to develop a community of learners, practice social emotional learning, work together, and make fun memories. When I build connections with my students, it makes a big difference and builds a path for what they do next.
Contributing to this project, students will get to experience a care closet.
Students who have their basic needs met can focus better in class.
What is a care closet? It is a place where students can get the basic items they need to be successful throughout our day. It could be a snack, something for their hair, a pair of socks, supplies, etc. I want to show them that kindness can be spread. This year, I'd like to add these t-shirts so they have something to change into if they get dirty. Wearing clean clothes seems small, but it has a huge impact on how students feel about themselves. When students feel good, they're more likely to engage socially and academically.
