Recently, I have seen an uptick in student need for hygiene products and clean clothes. Some children have come to school with soiled clothing and others have had accidents while at school. I have been going through the supplies I have for such situations quickly and am running out!
Every child deserves to be clean and comfortable when they come to school.
Otherwise, how can we expect them to learn? With your support, I will be able to stock a cabinet where students can quickly clean up, change into fresh clothing, fix their hair, grab a healthy snack, and get back to class. This preserves students' dignity and health, and ensures that their learning isn't interrupted by lack of resources. When I call a parent to tell them that their child will be coming home with some hygiene supplies and in a different outfit, they express such gratitude and relief. This is something I want to be able to do for all students who need it.
