My Project
Students spend about 180 hours in my classroom every year. Helping the room helps them.
Students want to help out in the classroom.
This project gives them the tools to be helpful.
Sometimes it is a brain break for a wiggly student or an opportunity for a student to demonstrate ownership and pride in our environment. Our classrooms are cleaned every day, but students notice more. They notice spills throughout the day. They notice marks on the desk. They notice sand on the walk outside the classroom. They notice dust on the bookshelf.
For students who want to be helpful and responsible, it is important that I provide them with opportunities to try out those skills throughout the day.
These cleaning supplies like brooms and dusters and cloth will give my students the chance to show pride in their environment. A clean classroom is a healthy classroom and this is it!
