My students need a clean rug to create enough space for at least 24 students where they can gather for large/small group activities.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Work Hard and Get Smart" is our class' favorite quote and is what I want for them. Whether we read a book, work in centers, learn new math and literacy skills, explore science, walk through history, eat lunch, or play with friends, we do it wholeheartedly and not wasting any minute or second.
Our school is Title 1 school.
Most of my students receive free-lunch daily. Our population includes: Hispanic, African American, Caucasian, Indian, and Asian. Even though, they come from a humble background, they are very eager to learn and request extra homework to do during the weekend. Moreover, they are willing to support each other in the learning process.
My school has a great supportive team which I am most grateful and happy to be a part of this community. We may have 14 extra trailers on the playground, but the teachers and students are making the best out of them. We may have broken water fountains, but the students are willing to bring their own water bottle. We may run out of hand washing soap and paper towel in the bathroom, but the teachers provide for the students. We may have outdated rugs, but we try to utilize as much as we can. Lastly, we hope our efforts are creating an inviting learning environment for all students.
My Project
The rug area is known as our "family space". We gather there to learn, to solve problems, to laugh, to share our stories and to enjoy each other presence. A new rug will be put in a prominent place in our classroom. We will use it for large group activities as well as a small/individual space. Since it is in the library area, students will also use it as a reading space. A clean rug can do so much which I can't describe them all. Thank you.
We will have a clean rug and a clean learning space where we can motivated a better learning environment.
I am sure this will empower them to work even harder which paves the way for their future success. Lastly, we don't have to endure the setting out and putting away the mats. Hence, we can channel that precious time and energy to a more productive task.
***Two students were bitten by ants which came from under the rugs.
