This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Tissues, paper towels, disinfectant, and bandaids are basic necessities for a middle school classroom.
When a student is sneezing and sniffling through my lesson, I want the ability to casually pass by their desk, mid-lecture, and seamlessly drop a box of tissues in front of them.
Allowing them to take care of their needs, without missing a beat. When someone trips over a water bottle on their way to the pencil sharpener, I want the ability to hand them a stack of paper towels, and quickly resolve the issue without an unnecessary trip down the hall to steal napkins from the bathroom. When a student is examining their hand and says “ouch, I’m bleeding”, I want the ability to provide them with a bandaid or two.
Students use these supplies on a daily basis, they go through thousands of tissues, and napkins, and bandaids in a single year. I am hoping that this project will give my students a safe place to learn, and prevent 10-15 minute interruptions every time a student needs something I cannot provide.
