My Project
My students are high schoolers in special education who work hard every day to succeed alongside their peers in a mainstream academic setting. They thrive with structure, calm environments, and clear expectations—and our learning space plays a huge role in that success.
Classroom Need/Description:
Our classroom is unique: we share it with four other teachers throughout the day, which means our space is constantly shifting. Sometimes we meet in the hallway or have to break into small groups around the campus. With limited control over our physical environment, it’s tough to give students the consistency they need.
We need rolling magnetic whiteboard room dividers to create semi-private workspaces for small group instruction, while still having access to a whiteboard for visual learning. Disinfectant wipes and air fresheners will help us keep shared spaces clean and pleasant—especially important for students with sensory sensitivities.
How Materials Will Make an Impact:
These resources will help us transform any corner of the school into a structured, safe, and focused space for learning. The dividers allow us to bring the classroom to the students—no matter where we are—while the wipes and air fresheners help keep the environment clean and comfortable for everyone.
A calm, well-defined, and hygienic space helps my students stay on task, reduce anxiety, and feel respected and supported. These materials aren’t just supplies—they’re tools for dignity and success.
