Feeling insecure about hygiene can make the hours spent at school feel like days. Worrying about body odor should not be on a student's mind when they should be focused on learning. Our students often come from low-income homes, making the availability of hygiene products an issue.
Having access to items like feminine products, deodorant, body wipes, and lotion, greatly improves the students' everyday comfort and focus while in the school building.
While our school has received donations in the past, donations are rare and the items run out fast. Working as a school counselor, students, especially young ladies, often visit our offices needing feminine products and other means to keep clean. Most times, these students don't know where their next pad or tampon will come from.
Our students deserve to have access to these items to avoid bullying and embarrassing situations. This grant would provide the necessary hygiene products that will allow our students to remain well-groomed, clean and focused.
