My Students
Our students come to school eager to learn with their mind and heart open for everything their teachers have to offer.
School is a very important part of our students lives.
We teach at a Title I school with over 70% of our students receiving a free or reduced-price lunch and all of our students get free breakfast in the mornings. We have a backpack program that sends home food with kids over the weekend and offers free lunch for students over the summer break.
My Project
We are requesting a classroom rug which will be the meeting place for my Kindergarten students. This is where learning new material, reading stories, working in small groups take place, and it is a place for students to use as flexible seating. The rug is a special place where everyone feels welcome and the students know that something new and exciting is about to take place! The carpet is a home inside a classroom, fostering learning and creativity. We want to keep our rug and classroom healthy and clean by using the Clorox wipes.
This new rug will improve the classroom environment and give my students an additional choice of seating.
With this new rug, my Kindergarteners in my classroom will have the opportunity to have a place where they can all comfortably come together for our special time during the day and feel like a family.
