This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I provide services for children of various grades with speech and language impairments in grades kindergarten through eighth grade in an inner city, public school in New York City. Each one of my students has individual goals ranging from improvements in vocabulary, writing, reading, cognition, stuttering and speech articulation. My students and their families lack resources required for academic, speech and language improvements. I try my best to provide these resources to help them succeed in school and to improve their self-esteem.
My Project
New York City slashed the Department of Education’s budget this school year. But we still need to provide our students with clean and sanitary classrooms for them to learn and grow. I don’t want my students to fear germs when they are learning, I want them to feel safe. Help provide hand sanitizer, disinfecting spray, paper towels and masks to protect my students this school year. With these supplies, I can assure my students and protect them in my classroom. Learning cannot happen until fundamentals are provided for our kids!
