As with most kindergartners, my students are eager to play and learn. They are very curious about the world around them, and they are eager to use their natural creativity to make sense of that world. Although they are in a high-poverty school, they see the world through the same five-year-old eyes as anyone. They need supplies provided to them to make the most of their curiosity and eagerness to learn. I want them to go into the world with any advantage I can provide.
Right now we are working virtually, but hopefully, it will be safe again soon to be in the classroom.
My Project
Because of the pandemic, our class has been scrubbed from top to bottom. Most of the classroom has been so disinfected that no virus has any chance. Unfortunately, we are not equipped with anything to really clean the carpet.
We need a carpet scrubber to disinfect the carpet.
There is nothing better than a recently cleaned carpet to make the room look and smell clean. This is reassuring not only myself, but to the students and their parents. Hopefully, we will soon be able gather on the carpet for story time.
