My students are an amazing group of kids. They are enthusiastic about school and embrace everything we do in class. They love reading, P.E., math, and science. Our school is a Kindergarten through eighth-grade school located in rural California. It serves 450 students. Our school is surrounded by forests and mountains and has daily visitors such as geese, turkeys, and deer.
Our school has a strong academic and athletic culture.
I want to maintain our strength in these areas by continuing to provide materials to enrich my students' experiences.
My Project
My students need soap, snacks, and materials such as engaging room decor to keep our room healthy and clean.
My students and I will be in a brand new classroom this school year.
My school had a fire in 2016, and my entire classroom was destroyed. We have been housed in a portable for the last two years and gathering new supplies and materials has been on hold until our move to our new room.
The soap will be used to keep our hands clean. Staying clean will keep students healthy, which will minimize absences. The snacks will be used to feed hungry students so they keep their stomachs and minds full so they can stay engaged in our lessons to maximize learning. The classroom decorations will be used to maintain an inviting environment so students stay motivated and continue to want to be in school.
