This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Earth Day is everyday! Help me give my students the chance to learn about Earth Day while having fun! This project was thought up in hopes to make a positive impact on ALL students. With this project I want to use an educational approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking. This STEAM project will allow the students to have hands-on and integrated activities that will make it so fun for them to learn about their environment.

I chose these hands-on materials and activities to help the students stay engaged throughout their learning.

With materials like the Gemstone Dig Kit the students will get the opportunity to learn a about Earth science. In this project I requested a LadyBug Growing Kit and a Tickle Me Plant Greenhouse Kit so that my students will have opportunity to engage in real, hands-on lessons. These lessons will going along well with our celebration of Earth Day. With all of these materials, my students will be able to collaborate with their peers, work together, and also learn about planet Earth and our environment. My students love to learn about the environment and how they can make a positive impact on the environment. The Earth Day Activity Book with help them with that!

There are paint brushes and some paint for the students to use after they make their own mini volcanoes made from recycled newspaper. These hands-on activities will make a difference in my students’ learning by keeping them engaged. I believe that these materials can help students be more engaged in our Earth Day lessons.
