Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The students at this school are not used to having "new" and "shiny" things. They often times get hand me downs or used items. The 35 recorders I have in my classroom have been used before by other students and have wear and tear to them. My students love to use instruments and explore the variety of sounds and textures. They find joy in being able to make music and learn new skills every day.
By donating to our project you will not only be giving a student a brand-new recorder, but you will be giving them the opportunity to learn and become successful and talented musicians.
Students will be learning a variety of songs with various levels of difficulty, while not having to worry about the cleanliness of using a shared recorder. These recorders will be numbered and given out to the students to use only during music class. They will be responsible for taking care of their recorder and playing it with the correct technique and hand placements. This will teach them to be responsible and respectful not only in music class but in their everyday life. I hope you consider donating to our project and supporting music education in schools.
