This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach in a resource classroom, where I support students with unique learning needs. As we prepare for the upcoming school year, I'm kindly asking for donations of Kleenex tissues, disinfecting wipes, snacks, and engaging books to help create a clean, healthy, and welcoming environment for my students.

These supplies are an essential necessity that helps maintain hygiene and prevent the spread of germs, and friendly books foster a love for reading, build confidence, and give students access to the stories and information that help them grow academically and emotionally.

Every morning, my students step into the classroom with bright eyes and open hearts, ready to embrace learning, no matter the challenges they face outside school. We’re tucked away in a close-knit border town at the southern tip of Texas, where Spanish fills the air and culture is a way of life. Many of my students are beginning their journey with English through our Bilingual program. My hope is clear and strong: to help them find their voice, fall in love with reading, and see how language can open doors to limitless opportunities.
