Clean and calm classrooms help students feel as though they can peacefully learn. When students can peacefully learn, it helps encourage success and personal pride.
My goals for this project are to acquire the supplies that will allow our classroom to stay organized, efficient, and calm.
Having a working laminator will help to keep reusable items in good working condition and prevent them tearing. A small bookshelf allows for a storage space for novel studies and prevents them from being ruined in student desks. Chair pockets provide additional space for student supplies and workbooks that won't fit in their desks. Noise canceling headphones allow students who may not handle loud noises well to escape the noise that comes with larger class sizes. Finally, a pencil sharpener that works automatically allows students to be in charge of keeping their own pencils sharp with out ruining pencils or sharpeners.
My students are moving up to the upper elementary grades and growing their independence, it is my job to help build these skills through the classroom environment they are in. The requested supplies will help me foster independence through modeling a calm and clean classroom.
