This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students at our school represent a diverse background of amazing students. I am constantly amazed with the resilience and grit that these students have. With the majority of our students living in poverty there are many barriers each student overcomes on a daily basis. They are an excellent bunch of kids.
Watching each student thrive is a spectacular sight.
I love working in this school everyday and want to do anything possible to continue to support my passionate and caring students.
My Project
Being in an older building, it is hard to get fresh air. With policies that prevent open doors/windows for safety reasons, the classroom frequently gets pretty stuffy without much air flow.
We have a old heating and cooling system with large ducts and poor air circulation.
Every break away from school I am in the classroom dusting off thick layers of gray gunk from every rarely touched surface. A small air purifier can work wonders on cleaning up the air for students.
With clean air and healthy bodies students will be more alert and focused and ready for all the learning the day brings.
