This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our classroom will be full of eager-to-learn second graders, both in-person and remotely. I knew them as first-graders and they are spunky! Some are English Language Learners; some are students with disabilities; all are amazing!
Cultivating a growth mindset is extremely important in our classroom.
I have to get creative and find ways to make them each the center of their own learning universe, especially since so many of them are confused with what is happening in our world.
Guiding them into developing a growth mindset will help bring back some normalcy into their young lives. I know we're going to have a wonderful, productive year!
My Project
As we move into a new school year, some things won't be the same for our children. Among the many changes, one of the more significant ones will be wearing face-covering in the classroom. Some kids may find it difficult to keep their masks with them at all times.
I'm asking for kid-size face masks and lanyards to ensure that they don't lose their masks or drop them on the floor if they take them off.
Making sure our hands are clean helps all of us stay healthy. Two automatic soap and hand sanitizer dispensers will help greatly. The two air purifiers for our classroom to provide us with an extra layer of protection during cold and flu season.
