My Students
The wonders of childhood when children use their hands to develop fine motor skills with thrills as they shape, cut and fashion their most prized fantasy creation--a special little dragon and a special little fish.
We're cleaning out our kiln room and making ready to do clay making.
This will be a 5th graders project. Our magnet school students are in a unique situation, as we share our school building with The Alberta Elementary School whose school was destroyed by the April 27th tornado. We are all recovering and rebuilding what we value, so much, our city school system that offers visual art to our children. We will all benefit from your most generous donation. Thank you so very much.
My Project
Just imagine being a child who sees a separate room in the wonderful art room--it is the kiln room. When a middle school moved out and our magnet school moved in and are settled, we are just now gearing up to offer the children clay making. The fifth graders will create slabs by rolling out the clay. We already have some rollers and with your donation we can purchase the much needed clay supplies, tools and glaze to create a blue dragon and/or a blue fish.
We have a rich visual art curriculum that explores 2-D and our children can experience further enrichment with the addition of this 3-D project.
They love to say, "It's mine. It's original. I made it."
