it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The items I am requesting, sculpting tools, sponges, clay mats, etc. will provide my students with hands-on opportunities to explore the art of ceramics. These materials will allow them to experiment with creating three-dimensional forms, practice fine motor skills, and bring their creative ideas to life. Clay offers a tactile, sensory-rich experience that helps students develop problem-solving skills, spatial awareness, and patience as they mold and refine their pieces. Having access to quality materials ensures they can create projects they’re proud of while learning new techniques. This project will provide an opportunity for students to experience the joy of creating something tangible and lasting, helping them develop an appreciation for the arts.
My goals for this project are to introduce students to the foundational techniques of ceramics, including shaping, carving, and texturing clay.
This project will help foster creativity by allowing students to express their individuality and personal stories through their art. It will teach students to plan, execute, and reflect on their work, building confidence and critical thinking skills.
My students are a creative, curious, and diverse group of young learners who thrive when given opportunities to express themselves. They come from various backgrounds, bringing unique perspectives to the classroom, which enriches our learning community. Many of them have limited access to hands-on art experiences outside of school, making these opportunities even more meaningful. They are eager to explore new materials and techniques, and I know they will embrace this project with enthusiasm and dedication. Providing them with the resources to succeed in ceramics will not only inspire their artistic growth but also show them that their creativity is valued and worth investing in.
