Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I'm a 5th grade teacher in charge of a class of 25 beautiful souls. My students are inquisitive, bright, and full of love! They adore art and science, and have a real affinity for fiction books. We are currently in the middle of our year-long project, the 40 Book Challenge, in which each student will (hopefully) read 40 books by the end of the school year.
My students are kind, compassionate, and really funny!
Each morning, we have a Morning Meeting, which consists of shares, a game, and morning mindfulness. They love sharing funny stories about things that have happened in their lives, playing games like Rock, Paper, Scissors Tournament, and quieting their minds and bodies before learning. They are a hilarious group of students who love to learn!
My Project
Since this is my first year teaching in-person, I am lacking many of the cleaning supplies that help maintain a clean work space. The Swiffer, cleaning liquids, and broom will allow me (and the students) to easily clean up any messes that occur. It will also help us uphold our cleanliness standards while we are still in the pandemic.
It is important that my students are able to learn in a clean classroom, especially during this pandemic.
In addition to the cleaning supplies, bags are often used as catch-all for art materials, broken games, and have a number of other uses. Thank you for considering to donate to my project!
