Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My 11th-grade students are highly energetic, inquisitive, and eager, and constantly challenge themselves. Most of them are in AP classes, take electives, and are involved in IT-related courses. They are very passionate about everything they do, inside and outside of school.
My students come from various parts of New York City, and many have families from all over the world.
They bring fresh, new experiences that liven and enrich our discussions in science class. They are the force to drive teachers like me to constantly improve our teaching methods, seek better resources for the classroom, and learn new ideas.
My Project
After reflecting on my teaching experience during the pandemic in-person and remote learning, I learned that students are more engaged with the class and teacher when the material is of high quality. My students have taught me about good audio and video through their digital participation.
I would like to improve the quality of my classes using microphones and webcams to help students see and hear me and my materials in professional quality.
The equipment would help reach students and families in and out of the classrooms by allowing me to amplify my voice and record my lessons in either live, remote, or pre-recorded settings.
