This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Throughout the 5 years I have been at Manzanita Community School, I have noticed a stark decline in resources provided to us teachers by the district of OUSD. With ever growing technology providing us the ability to print in color, and especially with projectors that use HDMI (not VGA), it is clear that all classrooms and teachers should have access to the quality of life amenities that can really help improve a students experience within the classroom.

This color printer will allow me to create different signs and posters throughout the year to capture their attention on a variety of many different subjects.

Furthermore, students will be encourage to generate their own graphics in full color using Canva or Microsoft Paint to be printed and displayed inside the classroom.

The projector will be a stark upgrade from the VGA projector I have been using for years. For starters, the cables are too short and hard to position within the classroom to create adequate passage through my class. Secondly, the projector I am currently using, frankly, was built in 2009. An upgrade is sorely needed to keep up with the ever growing technological pace. Even a students personal chromebook cannot connect to this projector if they are trying to give a presentation on their work.

Overall, a massive technological upgrade would highly benefit students in their artistic expression, and their ability to show off the fullest aspects of their work.
