My Project
I teach ICT classes with many neurodivergent students in 90 minutes blocks every day. My class is a mixture of general education and special education students.
Sitting still in a fixed class format is not conducive to my students' needs as learners.
The lack of color and convergence of a typical classroom isn't reflective of who I am as a teacher either.
I've made some changes already to my class by adding different seating and using different lights to reduce the light sensitivity my students have. I am motivated to continue changing my classroom space into a more inviting, creative, flexible, and inclusive teaching/learning environment for myself and, most importantly, give my students a fun, creative, flexible, and inclusive learning space, with a rug, bean bag seats, and more.
