This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a third grade reading teacher in East Texas, I know how much kids this age love stories and learning when lessons come alive. Although I haven’t met my new classes yet, I’m preparing to create a classroom where kids can gather around a cozy campsite to read, use blacklights and flashlights to explore glowing grammar games, and become detectives solving context clue mysteries.

Our themed classroom transformations bring reading to life, helping students connect in meaningful, memorable ways.

Many third graders learn best with hands-on and visual activities and this project will give them exactly that. It will build their confidence, spark curiosity, and help lessons stick in ways traditional teaching sometimes can’t.

Third graders are full of heart, imagination, and determination. Many students struggle with reading, but immersive, interactive activities help them see themselves as capable, excited readers. Your support will allow me to create these experiences again and again, not just for my two classes this year, but for many years to come.
