My Students
I teach in a highly diverse and transient school. This year all of my students receive free breakfast and lunch. I have students with many different backgrounds, single parent homes, students in foster care, and students who have moved several times in their short lives. I have been working at my building for 18 years and love to watch my students grow through the years. Because school is often what they consider their safe space, I try my best to make the classroom a home for them.
My Project
There are so many things that teacher use an a daily basis to keep learners engaged and excited to learn new things. The items I'm hoping for will do just that.
The balance board is for students who need to move and center themselves to help stay focused or just need some sensory stimulation.
The laminator will be used for classroom activities such as creating bookmarks, classroom games and learning displays and specail projects. The books are some of our new favorites that are engaging read alouds.The doorbell is a unique way to gain student attention without having to use verbal cues.Finally, the mini erasers are for students working on their individual whiteboards in all areas including phonics, grammar, math and cursive.
