Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My 15 transitional kindergarten students are 4-5 years old, early learners, and so excited to start school. This age level is one of the most important years in a students' life. They're like little sponges that soak up so much information in these first years of school. They come from a low-income community in central Washington, and nearly all of them are from low-income households.

My Project

These materials will allow my classroom to be organized, well thought out, and run efficiently. The books on my list will also allow my room to become a more culturally inclusive environment where kiddos will feel welcomed. These will be added to my class library as well as the rug. The rug will be the perfect touch to make it a cozy and warm place for students to go. Having the organizational shelf will allow materials to be easily accessible to children. I plan on placing our manipulatives and toys in the bins so they are easily accessible during lessons and accessible to the students during free-choice time. The pencils are perfect for these early learners to get them used to writing. Having a gift card to an educator resource website will allow me to plan and prep exciting and engaging materials for the future generation! Thank you so much for your help.
