My Project

As an elementary school teacher, I am constantly striving to create a warm, welcoming, and engaging classroom that supports and inspires my students—especially when it comes to reading. Right now, our classroom is in need of a few essential items that would greatly enhance our reading environment: new books, a cozy rug, and sturdy bookshelves. These additions may seem small, but they would make a huge difference in transforming our space into a true reading haven for my students.

The books would allow us to build a more diverse and enriching classroom library.

Many of my students come from homes where access to books is limited, and having a wide variety of stories, genres, and reading levels in our classroom gives every child the chance to fall in love with reading. Whether it’s getting lost in an adventure, connecting with a character who looks like them, or gaining knowledge about the world around them, these books would spark curiosity and excitement for learning.

The rug and bookshelves would help establish a comfortable and organized reading corner—a special space where students can relax, focus, and enjoy their books in a calm environment. The rug would invite students to gather for group reading or independent reading time, creating a sense of community and comfort. The bookshelves would ensure our library stays accessible and organized, making it easier for students to find books that interest them and fostering a sense of independence in choosing what they read.
